Embark on a tour to the heart of Malt Whisky country where you will tour two historic distilleries – Cardhu and Glenlivet – and enjoy a dram or two of their classic malts. There will be time for you to pop in to the distilleries at Aberlour and Glenfarclas and explore their well stocked shops.
A one day private tour, with a qualified tourist guide, exploring the heart of Malt Whisky Country.
Depart with your guide heading out of the City of Inverness taking in views of the Moray Firth before travelling into the heart of Malt Whisky country and Speyside.
Arriving in Speyside you visit a historic wool mill dating back to 1784 and watch some of the oldest weaving looms still in operation in Scotland. They offer a range of products made from textiles woven on site, including the exclusive Knockando Woolmill Tartan.
During your tour we visit four very different distilleries, giving you a chance to sample malts from different parts of Speyside. Aberlour, Cardhu, Glenfarclas and Glenlivet are names that will get any whisky enthusiast excited. Stopping at each of these distilleries you will have plenty of time to browse their extensive shops and sample a dram or two. Optional behind the scenes tours, with a tasting, are available at Cardhu and Glenlivet for an additional charge. (You can pre-book your tickets during checkout).
Your lunch stop is taken in the charming village of Aberlour, which has a choice of places to eat. Our recommendation would be The Mash Tun, where they have the exclusive Glenfarclas Family Collection of malts, many of them rare bottlings.
After a full day of distillery visits, you can sit back and enjoy the views as we head back to Inverness, travelling through the northern parts of the majestic Cairngorms National Park.
Tour duration: 9 hours
